Initial Roof Inspection: To begin, our team will take a careful look at the condition of your roof. Storm damage is very common in the RDU area and if there are any signs of it on your roof, our inspector(s) will find it. Pictures will be taken of the damage for you to see and our inspector will give his professional opinion on what your best course of action is.
Opening a Claim: If there is sufficient storm-related damage on your roof, we will recommend making a claim through your insurance company. For many homeowners, dealing with the insurance company is a hassle, which is why your Simply Inspections Representative will be with you every step of the way to ease the burden. Depending on your preference and which insurance company you have, we may even communicate with insurance on your behalf.
Adjuster Inspection: Once the claim has been filed, the insurance company will send out an adjuster to view the damage for themselves. Our inspector(s) will be there throughout that entire process to ensure that the adjuster does not miss any of the damage on your roof.
Loss Summary: Shortly thereafter you will be notified if your claim has been approved and you will receive a loss (damage) summary. Simply Inspections will ensure that the job can be done at the cost of the insurance payout or will bill insurance for the difference so that you don't have to pay out-of-pocket.
Select Materials: You will be given booklets by your Simply Inspections Rep that come from the shingle manufacturer and contain samples of the different colors they offer to help you make your decision.
Roof Restoration: Finally, once the materials have been ordered and arrive, your Simply Inspections build crew will be there to replace your roof. Your Simply Inspections Rep will be present the entire time to make sure that the job is done well and that you are happy with the result.
After: Simply Inspections stands behind our work with utter confidence, but sometimes things do happen. This is why we include a 1-year labor warranty and years-long manufacturer warranty for all of our roof replacements.
The best part about Insurance Roof Restoration is that our clients pay almost nothing out-of-pocket. Typically, the only out-of-pocket expense for any homeowner is their insurance deductible, which they are legally obligated to pay. As we like to tell our clients: paying a small deductible for a full roof replacement is a pretty great deal!
Feel free to reach out to us if you have any additional questions!
Many homeowners are rightly suspicious upon hearing that they can get a new roof with almost no out-of-pocket expense. That being said, this business is perfectly legitimate. Insurance Restoration is a business wherein companies like Simply Inspections do contracting work that is paid for by a homeowner's insurance company. The work is done only because there is storm-damage on the roof that could potentially become a leak if not addressed. Many homeowners do not realize that they have storm damage on their roof, which is why Simply Inspections offers a free, no-strings-attached inspection before there is any discussion of signing a contract or filing an insurance claim.
Please keep in mind that unfortunately scams do exist. Whether you use Simply Inspections or not, be sure to ask your contractor if they are based locally, and what warranty they offer on their work. Also, always ensure that you read through a proposed contract very carefully before signing it and ask questions about anything that you're unsure of.
The short answer is: probably not.
Determining whether a premium could increase after a roof replacement is difficult because it usually depends on the insurance company and how often a homeowner files insurance claims on that policy. That being said, it's a rare thing for an insurance company to raise the premium of a longstanding customer who does not constantly file claims. If you've filed one or more claims in the last year for your home, you may have reason to think twice about getting a roof replacement.
On the other hand, if you're a homeowner who has been dutifully paying your insurance company for years without filing almost any claims (which is the case for most of our clients), then why shouldn't the insurance company be paying for a roof replacement, without immediately raising your rates afterword, when their own adjuster has verified the damage? And the answer is, they usually do. The vast majority of our clients and even homeowners who have gone through the process with other companies have told us that they did not get the premium-hike that they feared could happen.
In the unlikely event that your deductible does increase after the job is done, reach out to us and we will give you our advice on what you can do.
Simply Inspections offers a 1-year labor warranty on your new roof. We stand by our quality and by the quality of the materials being used on your roof. In the exceedingly rare case that something goes wrong on your roof in such a short period of time, we will take care of it for free.
First of all, Simply Inspections DOES NOT ask homeowners to sign a contract in order to perform the initial inspection. Whatever damage is found by our inspector will be relayed to you as soon as they come down off your roof (they will have pictures).
Once you have decided to put in a claim with your insurance company, Simply Inspections will send you an initial contract. This contract is mainly to say that if we continue to help you through the process at no charge and you are approved for a claim, we will be rewarded with the right to do the work. Therefore the reason the contract is necessary from our end is to ensure that we don't spend our days giving free services and not getting any work after the approval.
The majority of insurance payouts come in two separate payments by the insurance company. Like many different businesses, approximately half of the total payout is not given to us until after the work is completed.
We only use "Architectural" shingles (or better) which are the industry standard and superior to older "3-tab" shingles. Architectural shingles are rated for above (depending on type/brand/etc.) 100mph while 3-tab have been known to lift from wind speeds of only 60mph.
